Kim Rosenberg, M.Div.

Founder and Executive Director

Alicia Budris

Creative Consultant

Kim has been an English teacher in a public high school for more years than she cares to admit! She received her Bachelor’s degree in English from St. Joseph’s University and her Master’s degree in Literacy Studies from Hofstra University. She has spent her entire career in the same school where she has forged meaningful relationships with both students and colleagues.

Feeling a calling to further her education, Kim earned her Master of Divinity with a concentration in Biblical Studies from Regent University. It was during one of her classes there that she recognized the need for faith-based mental health resources and programs to support those in distress. This realization led her to create Anchor in the Storm, a weekly blog integrating Biblical truths and encouragement for those navigating life's storms. Additionally, Kim has led Bible studies and a faith-based support group for many years.

To address the crucial need for an accepting community where everyone is welcome, Kim founded Lighthouse of Hope. Through this organization and her dedicated team, she aims to nurture hearts, minds, bodies, and souls. As Lighthouse grows, Kim envisions adding more groups and services.

Presently, Kim is pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Christian Counseling. She feels blessed to be able walk alongside suffering people and offer them hope and encouragement. She also facilitates a faith-based support group, Shelter in the Storm, at Lighthouse as well as Sacred Silence, a guided meditation prayer group.

Lynn Walsh, LCSW

Assistant Program Developer

Lynn received her Masters in Social Work from Stony Brook University, School of Social Welfare, in 1988, and worked as a special education school social worker for twenty-six years. She has maintained a private psychotherapy practice for fifteen years, primarily focusing on female adolescents and young adults, as well as individuals and couples impacted by infertility and/or adoption.

Deeply rooted in the Roman Catholic faith since birth, Lynn was very active in a multitude of parish ministries including faith formation, street ministry, and holiday food distribution. Her lifelong affinity for all of God’s creatures called her to create a “Chicken Ministry” in her parish, to provide eggs for the food pantry. Recently, Lynn has been expanding her awareness of other faith traditions and new ways of deepening her relationship with Christ through service to others. She is also an emerging writer who has had stories appear in Her View from Home and Better After 50.

Firmly grounded at the intersection of her social work and Catholic roots, Lynn is vocal about her support for social justice- for all marginalized people, for respecting our planet, and for every being created by God. “What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works...For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” (James 2:14, 26)

Lynn and her husband, Mike, are the parents of two adult daughters. They reside on eastern Long Island with their cats and dog. Outside, they are at the service of four feral cats, and a host of bushy-tailed and winged creatures who consider this their home.
